How the Mind Affects the Body. How the Body Affects the Mind

Week 1

Our mind and body are interconnected. When we see, hear, touch, taste or smell, both the body and brain participate in the interaction with the environment. Also our emotions, everything that we feel and experience, are anchored in the body. It is important to be conscious of your physical, mental and emotional exchange with the World, and for that we look to our inner nature. By learning how the mind and body influence each other, we gain control over how we respond to life.

Understanding Our Conditioning and Patterns

Week 2

We are, undeniably, beings of habit, and the physical, mental, and emotional places we often gravitate toward are rooted in our conditioning. In the process of discovering our Natural Self we decondition our mind to habits pressed upon us through various life’s circumstances. The Yoga Sutras state “Future suffering is to be avoided” “Heyam duhkham anagatam”, thus by applying awareness we can break free from our habitual patterns and create changes in our life.

Understanding and Using Our Strengths

Week 3

It is said the eyes are the windows to our soul, but what does the soul see outside those windows? In understanding the elements of nature that create our existence and impact our experience, we hone in on the ones that serve us best. We will have time to reflect and journal, leaving this class with a clear understanding of our inner strength.

Using Vulnerability to Grow

Week 4

We will learn to acknowledge and support places in the body that we feel most vulnerable. This can be from experiences in early childhood as well as difficulties we face later in life. Once this is uncovered, we will feel more grounded and confident.

Combining our Strengths and Weaknesses

Week 5

What happens within us affects what happens outside of us. We must use our strengths to look at our “perceived” weakness, so we can elevate the good in both of them. In this class, we will use Pranayama, Asana, and Sound Healing to combine our Strength and Weaknesses and thus raise our body’s vibration.

The Road To Peace. Interconnectedness.

Week 6

When balanced in body and mind we can feel at peace, connected with ourselves and others. We will understand the need for peace and the longing our souls have for this quality. In discovering our Natural Self, we naturally become conscious of our life's purpose, thus providing an overall higher sense of living. When we know the path that connects us, we see all the connections in the path. In this class we look within at the direction our life is headed, and open ourselves to the road that leads with Peace. This class will have meditation, breathing techniques, and Q&A.
