Course Highly Sensitive and Thriving

Being highly sensitive is a bit like being an app downloading information all the time, but not knowing how to stop it, resulting in you taking in other people’s emotions and/or pains involuntarily. It drains you. It prevents you from thriving. It might even make you think there is something wrong with you. But rest assured: high sensitivity is a normal innate personality trait amongst 20-30% of the population, both men and women alike. You just need to know a few tricks to master the trait. In this course, Märtha Louise gives you just that! Being highly sensitive herself, she shares her experiences from a highly sensitive perspective and takes you on a journey from surviving to thriving through meditations (mental exercises) of growth and awareness so you too may be highly sensitive and thriving.

An introduction to high sensitivity

Week 1

Märtha Louise shares generously from her own experiences and science on the subject. Visualization: Self Attention. Most highly sensitive people are prone to give others more attention than themselves which results in fatigue and stress. This exercise helps you to be aware when you tend to let other people's emotions, thoughts and/or pains seep into your system and drain you and what to do about it.

Dealing with overstimulation

Week 2

Over stimulation is something highly sensitive people have to deal with. What is it? What happens? How can we deal with it in everyday life, is the theme of this session. Visualization: how aware are you of your body’s signals? Having a direct connection to your body and its signal is essential for a thriving life as a highly sensitive person.

Setting boundaries

Week 3

Setting your boundaries is one of the hardest challenges for highly sensitive people. Because we tend to sense everybody else around us - all their emotional triggers and ups and downs - we have a hard time setting our foot down. But that ends here! Visualization: pulling in the antennas. By focusing too much on the outside world, i.e. other people and their opinions, emotional roller coasters and pains, we tend to forget our own boundaries and our own emotions and let our lives be steered by other people’s perceptions of us. In addition, we tend to reach over to everyone with our energy, which results in us being exhausted, fatigued and stressed even without doing that much. So, pulling in these antennas help you focus your energy, keeping it at a higher level through the day and at the same time being clear to both yourself and others about who you are, what you want and where you are going.

The art of saying no

Week 4

Have you ever thought about that saying no to others is saying YES to YOU? This session takes you on an adventure in how you were brought up to neglect your own boundaries for the benefit of others and how you demolish your own boundaries to please others. You might even say yes, when you mean no. You stretch in all directions because that is the person you are. You are getting more and more tired and exhausted, but keep on going. The only person you are letting down by continuing in this way, is you. Visualization: learning to say no in 3 different and new ways. Saying no is so important for staying in your power, self-respect and being true to yourself. This exercise goes in deep and in ways where you really get to your true and conscious NO from the heart; the NO from respect and love for yourself and others.
