About Course with Nicholas "Quazzy" Herd

In understanding the elements of nature that create our existence and impact our experience, we hone in on the ones that serve us best.

The Road To Peace: In this course we understand the need for peace and the longing our souls have for peace. We will use this first course to understand consciousness, and how our capacity to respond to stimuli directly affects our ability to feel peace. This class will have meditation, breathing techniques, and discussion.

Patanjali and The Gita : In the world : We use the first Yoga Sutras of Patanjali to understand how we can structure our own life. The Bhagavad Gita teaches us how to live our lives even with the knowledge of universal suffering. We put these two ancient texts into conversation to find duality of the spiritual and earthly plane.

Understanding Patterns: We build connections between our physical bodies. We look at the affect each action has on the larger system, and build from the phrase “So above than so below”.

Mindfulness in Practice 1| Understanding and Using Our Strengths: Here we learn to move from our own inner strength. In understanding the elements of nature that create our existence and impact our experience, we hone in on the ones that serve us best. We will have an asana practice that works on building awareness from the ground up.

Mindfulness in Practice 2 | Understanding and Using Our Vulnerabilities: Here we learn to acknowledge and support places in the body that we feel most vulnerable. This can be from traumas experienced in early childhood as well as difficulties we may experience on an average everyday basis. We will learn to spot these patterns to create changes in our life.

How does the Body Affect the Mind:
1. Key Words: Defense, Growth, Immunity.
2. Meditation, Mindfulness, Practice
