Katiza consciously made life and life’s impermanence her research field. With no fear, she moves and guides others into all different realities. She has great curiosity to meet in the presence of other human beings with the same ground of knowing: “we all are limitless and timeless”.
Her first language to communicate from ‘Here’ was through drawing and painting. Yoga and meditation were her playing fields where she naturally plugged into the realm of the all-knowing. She did not really learn yoga, she remembered it, and sharing yoga was a natural outcome. Painting and yoga were her expressions until yoga consumed her life as a direct language and service to humanity. Satsang has come naturally as part of sharing the nectar with all that are ready to receive it.
Since 1983, Satya has studied with a great number of prominent teachers and masters in Europe, the U.S., and India. Tibetan master, Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, was her first guru, followed by H.W.I. Poonja (Papaji) was her second after coming across the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi. Sri K. Pattabi Jois was her third guru, then S.N. Goenka was her fourth whom she followed for about 8 years in the teachings of Vipassana meditation. Satya has also received teachings directly from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and B.K.S. Iyengar; as well as been inspired and influenced by Parahamsa Nithyananda, Richard Freeman, Clive Sheridan, Sarah Powers, Tsultrim Allione, Dona Holleman and Orit Sen Gupta, and Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.
Satya is an experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (ERYT500-RYT 500) and licensed to certify students at the 200- and 500-hour levels. She has in-depth knowledge of Vipassana and Mindfulness meditation, as well as yoga practices in Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, and Yin. Her friendly personality, contagious enthusiasm, and warm heart inspire her students to get the best out of themselves.
